Dr. Monika Govoni, DDS
General and Cosmetic Dentist
Dr. Monika Govoni began her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she studied biological sciences. During her college years, she worked as a dental assistant which inspired her to take on dentistry as a career path. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also met her future husband Dr. Robert Govoni. The couple currently resides in Roscoe Village with their 3 children: Jenna, Alex and Emilie.
Both working initially as associate dentists at Chicago and suburban practices, they decided to open an office of their own in Chicago’s Northside community, combining both of their dental specialties to create a unique dental experience for kids, adults and whole families. Here, at Brushin’ on Belmont, Dr. Monika and Dr. Robert‘s vision is to help create a lifetime of beautiful and healthy smiles for their patients.
Dr. Monika Govoni focuses primarily on comprehensive dental care for adult patients, integrating the latest dental solutions for treatment and prevention. Her use of advanced dental technology, combined with a warm and caring atmosphere, provides her patients with an approach to their dental health that is uncommon in today’s rushed world.
Dr. Govoni continues to attend advanced continuing education courses. She is a member of the prestigious Dawson Academy for Advanced Dental Studies which focuses on the concept of complete care dentistry, including dental occlusion, temporomandibular joints and comprehensive esthetic restorative dentistry.
She also holds a special interest in Integrative Medicine, a growing discipline whereby the goal is to understand the cause and effect relationship of health and disease. Knowing that her patients’ oral health is a direct reflection on their overall health and well-being. Dr. Monika Govoni feels it is her duty to promote this model of Integrative Dental Medicine for her patients through their education and the preventive and screening methods she has implemented here at Brushin’ on Belmont.
With this passion for mouth-body total health, Dr. Monika Govoni strives to continuously provide her patients with healthy, beautiful smiles that will function properly and serve them comfortably for years to come.

Dr. Robert Govoni began his education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. After graduation, he attended the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He continued his education with two additional years of training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Govoni is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
He has medical staff privileges at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where he treats patients and contributes to training of pediatric dental residents.
Dr. Govoni is an active member in the Northside community. He sponsors local little league baseball teams and coaches at Hamlin Park. He has trained coaches in the proper management of sport related dental injuries and also has donated emergency dental kits. In addition, he is a speaker and dental educator at local preschools and elementary schools where he discusses the importance of good oral habits with children to promote their healthy future.
He currently resides in the Roscoe Village area of Chicago with his wife, Dr. Monika Govoni who is our general and cosmetic dentist. The couple have three children, Jenna, Alex, and Emilie.

Dr. Ana Arruda, DMD, MSD
Dr. Ana Arruda began her education at Case Western Reserve University where she enrolled in the Pre-Professional Scholars Programs and earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She continued her education with two and a half additional years of training in Orthodontics at Saint Louis University. Dr. Arruda completed a Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Fellowship at Saint Louis Children’s Hospital during her orthodontic training and conducted research on white spot lesions in orthodontics, receiving a Master of Science in Dentistry degree.
Born in Ribeirão Preto, a city in the heart of São Paulo in Brazil, Dr. Arruda moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan during her childhood. Growing up with a passion for sports, she went on to Case Western Reserve University to play collegiate soccer and begin her educational journey. She has been involved in numerous pediatric community service activities such as Children’s Miracle Network Fundraisers and Give Kids a Smile. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Arruda believes a healthy smile is critical to a healthy life. Using the latest innovations in orthodontics, improvements in functional, orthopedic and aesthetic balance can be achieved with great efficiency in both children and adults.
